Projects and Self-Assigned Crap

Actually talked to my mom today. Looks like I’ll be going home for a dentist appointment the first week of July. Yay.

Adam and I just may have gotten ourselves a gig, him doing design and I doing design/coding. This Jamaican guy needs a website done for an all-genre record label. Of course we weren’t going to turn that down. He was talking more to Adam than me, but when he started talking more than just art, Adam directed it towards me. I gave him this site, MWO, and RE to track me down on. If you happen by here, hello! :

I actually worked pretty hard on my motion graphics project today in lab. I’ve settled on an advert for Leathermouth. It’s really neat because it has these crazy film reels going with video footage of the band performing and stuff. Oh, and I get to use my favorite Leathermouth song, Sunsets Are For Muggers.

Like I need another one, but I’m working on two more fanlistings. Yes, two. XD Like I don’t have enough to do already. I’m not going to say what they are because I don’t want someone to take them. Okay, I lied, possibly three now that I’m thinking about it, and many, many more if I can get my hands on them. :shifty: Someone shoot me…

Web design next month will be so boring. I’m more advanced than that. I mean, not to say I won’t learn anything because I probably will (it’s inevitable, really), but I’m looking forward to the easy grade. And, more than likely, a good grade in psychology next month, which will balance out the two B’s I’ll get (have gotten?) in motion graphics. Wee! I’ve had nothing less than a B so far in any of my classes so I’m crossing my fingers it’ll stay that way for awhile.

My elbow is sore. It feels like I scraped it on something. DX

Walmart has freaky security

May 26th, 2008 @ 11:39pm | Permalink | Comments(0) »

I have a skeleton pieced for my motion graphics project but not much else. I’ll be up for awhile.

Doing laundry.

So I was at Walmart tonight getting random things (detergent for said laundry) and as I left, I started to cross the crosswalk thing and the moron in the security van stopped right in front of me. I’m like, okay, and I move to my right to see if I could get around the vehicle and the person moves foward. Stopping, so I didn’t get hit, I tried to let the vehicle pass me (as I’m now standing in the middle of the street). The vehicle did not move. I again went to the right to see if I could get around the front, and the person stepped on the gas again. I stopped, again, frustrated, and moved to my left to go behind the vehicle when the person “kindly” waved me ahead of them. The security vehicle then proceeded to follow me all the way out to my car and stopped and watched me put my (three small) bags in the passenger side of my car and finally drove away.

I’m not sure whether I need to feel safe or completely freaked out by Walmart security. Riiiight.

I need to make a page for my cat….haha….

Stupid Me, Stupid Google! Rawr!

Kathleen’s sitting here laughing at me because I about just bombed this site. So, when I added on this domain to my account (the one that hosts Reason Enough and Mikey Way Online, my only account), I decided to make a new account so I could use GMail as my mail service for this domain. Well, what I didn’t realize was that I then couldn’t use the Affiliationally installation on Mikey Way Online’s backend. I thought, what the heck, I’ll just switch the user over and life’ll be good. Not so. The entire site was just….gone. Like, poof! No more! I panicked, changed it back, and refreshed, and nothing. I cried to Kathleen, and hit refresh, and the site loaded, causing me relief and a good round of amusement from Kathleen. Basically what this means is that I need to go home and use my own internet to upload a new installation of Affiliationally and then upgrade the current one. FTP access is blocked at school.

Alright, I’m on the school’s internet, right? Right. So I guess there’s a lot of students Googling today because I’ve been getting this message every time I try and use the Google search box in FireFox:

We’re sorry…

We’ll restore your access as quickly as possible, so try again soon. In the meantime, if you suspect that your computer or network has been infected, you might want to run a virus checker or spyware remover to make sure that your systems are free of viruses and other spurious software.

We apologize for the inconvenience, and hope we’ll see you again on Google.

Well, then. I guess a lot of kids are Googling from my campus today. Interesting.

In need of inspiration

May 24th, 2008 @ 9:12am | Permalink | Comments(0) »

I’m having issues with this next motion graphics project. In a week, I need to create a 60-second animation, chop it down to 30, and then to 15. I have this really, really sweet concept for a promotion for the Skeleton Crew record label but I’m afraid I won’t be able to get it done in time. I’m probably going to do something really simple for The Tudors or something but go ahead and work on the s//c thing anyhow. I really want to do it, but, well, time-constraints. :fist:

Never thought I’d find myself listening to H.I.M. but I am because DeDe, a lady I met at the last two My Chemical Romance concerts I went to, was obsessed with Ville Valo (Vill-uh Vah-loh, as the man told her himself!) and H.I.M.’s music, so I got them into my iTunes. A couple of songs went through and wasn’t too impressed, but I’ve now listened to Killing Loneliness several times and I absolutely love it! We’ll see if I can get myself off this track and to actually listen to any other songs by them.

So now I sit in lab with no inspiration for the next project. Shall I try my ever-so-complicated premise for s//c since it’s the only inspiration I have? Perhaps. Kathleen still wants me to do a project on chocolate. It’d be pretty funny to do an ad for chocolate to Killing Loneliness. Make chocolate look rock. Ha. Wow, already scheming…

Funniness

May 22nd, 2008 @ 9:28am | Permalink | Comments(0) »

I’m amused. On the way to school this morning, I had to wait on some ducks. I mean, it’s sad when they’re so used to cars and stuff that they continue to sit in the middle of the parking lot, but they were still cute in a really ugly kind of way.

Another something funny. Heard of Jem’s Pants Awards? You have now. It’s…kind of like she’s giving a total butt-ripping to the jerks of the Internet, big and small. I have one thing to say: IT’S ABOUT FREAKING TIME. Finally someone’s calling these people out. Yes, I thinks he sometimes puts herself in the position for drama, but honestly? The people she picks on deserve it.

Last funny thing is a music video by Coldplay which I found on NME. It has videos of politicians dancing. Pretty freaking funny.

Finally stuck on a new set of fake nails. These are black and white striped. I wore my Mikey Fuckin Way shirt to match. Oh, and my boots. Nice.

Gerard Way is officially one of the most amazing men on the face of the planet. I mean, I knew this already, but he just amazes me all over again once and awhile. Check this out and see if you can find any words to argue with me.
